What is New and other Notes: added the April snow total to the long term snow and the long term water from snow tables. April was far below average in snowfall, and for this winter there was only one month that beat that month's average, and that was October that does not get all that much snow anyway.
Added the number of days for this April in which the temperature reached or surpassed freezing to the table. The average number of days in what i call "deep winter", December through March, averages 46.6 days and this winter had 76, while 47 of the last 52 months have beaten the monthly average.
A major event was substantial dirt blowing in early in the storm March 03 into March 04 that will make a well pronounced dirt layer in the snowpack and speed up spring meltdown of the snow (see photo below).
There were no record extremes in all of February until the tie for the record low on the 27th, and none in March or April. Go to the records by winter and the records summary table for more details.
The least amount of precipitation in any July dating back to 1989 was 0.30 inches of water, while the average rainfall for July is 2.28" and only 3 years have had under one inch total for any July. But this past July had only 0.04" of rain, the least precipitation in any month i have measured since starting to keep weather data. --There were only 4 days with measurable precipitation in the previous 56 days ending sunset August 12, and one of those was just 0.01".
